Nidec is a leader in industrial and appliance motors and controls manufacturing.

The MotorPro® University, powered by BlueVolt, offers online courses for sales training skills, product and brand knowledge, installation, management and communication, to US Motors’ customers, distributors and HVACR contractors. “Through our new online training University, we hope to efficiently educate more employees, supplement face-to-face training time, and reach more customers through better and more knowledgeable sales teams,” said Dennis Campbell Jr., market development and training manager at US Motors. “We believe in the philosophy that our customers sell what they know; therefore, if they can learn more about our product through online training, they are more likely to sell above other competing brands.”

By offering training online, MotorPros’ University administrators can quickly update course messaging to give employees access to the latest company news. Online training also ensures consistency of brand and product messaging throughout training, as every course participant has access to the same materials. Using BlueVolt’s powerful reporting features, University administrators have the ability to easily monitor user progress in the training program, reward users who are excelling in their training, and provide extra help to those who need it.

“BlueVolt is pleased to launch US Motors’ MotorPro University,” said Sharon Dunigan, national account manager for BlueVolt. “Our elearning platform enhances the company’s training efforts, which is a cornerstone of US Motors’ commitment to help their distributors and contractors reach their goals.”

BlueVolt continued to grow in second quarter 2012, adding 11,179 new users and 1,111 new online courses to its Learning Management System (LMS). Learners enrolled in 92,750 courses during the quarter, and earned 88,909 $BlueBucks for successfully completing training. The LMS now offers 14,912 courses.

BlueVolt launched online Universities for three new customers: White Rodgers, Vision 20/20 and IBM. BlueVolt’s online Universities provide a central hub for customers’ online and offline training efforts which make it easy to train, track and reward employees and participants in the sales channels.

A major milestone was achieved – the 2,000,000th $BlueBuck was awarded. BlueVolt’s unique built-in incentive and rewards program allows learners to earn $BlueBucks as they successfully complete online courses and prove their knowledge. $BlueBucks are instantly redeemable for virtual gift cards, which are valid at hundreds of online and retail businesses. To celebrate this milestone, all users who completed any course through the BlueVolt LMS during the promotional period were automatically entered in a drawing to win a grand prize vacation to the destination of the winner’s choice. Fifty runner-up prizes (one from each state) of 25 $BlueBucks were also available.

BlueVolt hosted its LEAP Ahead elearning conference in Portland during June, drawing record attendance. Three simultaneous tracks were offered on content development, training program management and LMS administration. Keynotes were delivered by Judy Unrein and Art Kohn.

“The second quarter was a busy one for BlueVolt. Despite the continued softness in the US economy, or perhaps because of it, we continue to rapidly grow the network of companies and users for our extended learning management platform in the 17 industries that we serve.” said Don Spear, BlueVolt president and CEO. “We were thrilled with the attendance at our elearning conference and the increasing adoption by our customers of online training as a primary method for productivity and sales improvement.”

To celebrate this milestone, all users who completed any course through the BlueVolt LMS during the promotional period were automatically entered in a drawing to win a grand prize vacation to the destination of the winner’s choice. Fifty runner-up prizes (one from each state) of 25 $BlueBucks, which are redeemable as virtual gift cards from hundreds of merchants, were also available.

Out of 65,980 entries, the grand prize winner was Larry Dalton of Murfreesboro, Tenn. who completed courses from Westinghouse Lighting’s® online University, powered by BlueVolt. Dalton works as an outside sales representative for Fox-Rowden-McBrayer Inc., an electrical manufacturers’ representative company.

“I am very pleased with the ease of operation as well as the timeframe to complete each module in Westinghouse’s University. It doesn’t take all night to complete a course,” said Dalton. “I prefer online training far more than classroom training as it allows you to work at your own pace.”

Dalton and his wife will use the grand prize winnings to take a trip to Dallas, Texas to visit their youngest son.

One of the runners-up, Janet Gruszeczka from Iowa, said, “The knowledge you gain from these classes is exceptional! I have expanded my electrical knowledge simply by following the courses. The $BlueBucks are just an added bonus.”

“When training programs are both engaging and rewarding, they are effective”, said Don Spear, BlueVolt President and CEO. “Adding $BlueBucks to a course has proven to increase enrollment up to 10 times.
